Elon Musk plans to create a supercomputer to operate a more intelligent version of the Grok chatbot by fall 2025, as reported by The Information. The giant computer, dubbed the “Giant Computing Factory,” will utilize tens of thousands of NVIDIA H100 graphics processing units and cost billions of dollars to build. Musk stated that the upcoming Grok version will require at least 100,000 chips, a fivefold increase from the 20,000 units used for Grok 2.0 training. The planned GPU group will be at least four times larger than those used by current xAI competitors. Grok 1.5, released in April, processes visual information like images and graphics, along with text. The X platform recently introduced news summaries created with AI and powered by Grok for premium users.
