AMD has announced the launch of its Ryzen 9000 processor lineup for desktop computers, coming in slightly lower prices compared to the previous Ryzen 7000 series. The new processors will be released in two phases, starting on August 8 with the Ryzen 7 9700X priced at $359 and the Ryzen 5 9600X priced at $279. On August 15, the more powerful models, Ryzen 9 9950X at $649 and Ryzen 9 9900X at $499, will be launched. The Ryzen 9 9950X, featuring 16 cores, is priced $50 lower than the Ryzen 9 7950X launched two years ago. AMD promises a 16% performance improvement compared to the previous generation, with significant enhancements in productivity and gaming tasks. The new processors are compatible with current AM5 motherboards, which AMD guarantees support for until at least 2027. This release comes as Intel faces performance and stability issues with its 13th and 14th generation processors.
