Elon Musk has announced his intention to move the main headquarters of SpaceX and Tesla from California to Texas. Musk expressed his dissatisfaction with the new “SAFETY” law in California and other regulations that he considered to be attacking families and companies. SpaceX’s headquarters in Hawthorne, California, will be moved to Starbase in Texas, while Tesla’s headquarters in San Francisco will relocate to Austin. This is not the first time Musk has relocated his companies’ headquarters. In 2021, Tesla’s headquarters moved to Texas after health authorities in California closed its Fremont factory during the COVID-19 pandemic. Musk recently transferred SpaceX’s registration from Delaware to Texas after a Delaware court revoked his $55 billion pay package. Musk seems to be expanding his presence in Texas with plans to build a community outside Austin called Snailbrook and open a university in the city. These moves reflect Musk’s strategy of focusing his businesses in Texas, which seems to provide a more favorable business environment for his vision and ambitions.
